Scholarships
National Community Tax Coalition is able to provide a limited number of scholarships for community-based tax preparation programs. The scholarships will be provided in the form of discounted or complimentary registration as merited and available. Please note the National Community Tax Coalition cannot guarantee that all scholarship requests will be granted.
Criteria
The criteria that the National Community Tax Coalition will use to determine successful scholarship applications are the following:
- Applicant is a paid affiliate of the National Community Tax Coalition; or
- Applicant is a student or an Americorps VISTA working with a community-based tax preparation program; or
- Applicant represents a community-based tax preparation program that actively participates in National Community Tax Coalition activities (e.g. training or advocacy conference calls, advocacy campaigns, working groups); and
- Applicant can show proof of financial need (i.e. organization budget; project budget); and
- Applicant will participate as a conference resource as determined in conjunction with National Community Tax Coalition (e.g. support workshop set-up, support caucus, support registration).
Application Process
To apply for a scholarship, please submit this application online or download, complete and fax this application to (312) 252-0285. To ensure that conference attendees who do not receive scholarships are able to receive the early registration rate of $350 USD ($450 USD for a non-paid affiliate) for a single registration, scholarship applications are due by August 10, 2006 and applicants will be notified of their status no later than August 20, 2006.
Note: No more than 1 application will be accepted per organization
