To keep you informed about community tax news and policy, the operations of free tax sites, and tax issues affecting immigrants, the Coalition hosts three listservs. Subscribers to these listservs can easily send messages to everyone else who is subscribed. If you are not already participating, you can sign up at any time.
Tax Roundtable
(message frequency: 10/week)
For Coalition affiliates including organizations providing free tax preparation, EITC Outreach, advocacy for low-income taxpayers, or related activities. The listserv provides:
- Analyses of new tax policies and procedures affecting low-income taxpayers and free tax preparation programs
- Action alerts with opportunities to promote the interests of low-income taxpayers
- Opportunities for leaders of free tax preparation and asset building programs to share strategies, questions, and solutions to challenges.
Site Manager listserv
(message frequency: 2-3/week)
Aimed at managers of free tax preparation sites, open to anyone.
It covers:
- Practical Site Management Tips
- TaxWise Software Issues and Solutions
- Customer Service at Tax Sites
- Volunteer Management
- Quality Alerts
Immigrant Taxpayer Listserv
(message frequency: 2-3/week)
Open to people involved in community taxes who work with immigrants. It provides:
- Updates and analyses of policies affecting immigrant taxpayers
- Discussion by Low Income Tax Clinics, free tax preparation programs, and advocates of challenges facing immigrant taxpayers
- Advocacy alerts on immigrant taxpayer issues
H.O.P.E. (Help & Opportunities for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners)
(message frequency: 1/month)
Open to practitioners involved or interested in free tax preparation or financial services for offenders and ex-offenders. It provides:
- Connection to others working with these populations
- Ideas on how to reach the incarcerated and those re-entering society
