Center for Economic Progress

The Center for Economic Progress was established in 1990 to increase economic opportunities for low-income families and individuals in Illinois. Through advocacy, direct service, outreach, and training, the Center challenges barriers facing its constituency, thus encouraging self-sufficiency and promoting economic prosperity.

At its inception, the Center had a unique focus on assisting homeless families and individuals access services. Today, the Center addresses the numerous challenges facing the growing population of the working poor as they navigate their way through an increasingly complex financial landscape.
